Start with the zip length, since a side zip that stops short of the calf still has to be forced over the widest part of the leg. Check the heel height against where you will wear them, because above 8 cm with no platform puts the foot at a steep angle. Consider the toe shape, as a pointed last narrows well before the end of the boot. Finally, think about the shaft staying up, which depends on thigh circumference more than anything else.
