Start with the crown shape, since a flat top sits higher and looks more deliberate than a soft rounded one, and it shows if the hat is worn at an angle. Check the adjuster, because cotton has no give of its own once it is on. Think about the print scale against your frame, as a large floral reads very differently on a small hat. Finally, remember cotton absorbs water, so it is slower to dry than a synthetic after a shower.
Plain sundresses, white shirts and linen trousers let the print sit on its own. Beige works with almost anything; Light Blue and Light Pink read softer and suit pastel summer outfits. Avoid wearing it with another pattern.
