Start with the outsole material, since EVA foam is noticeably lighter than rubber but wears down faster on rough pavement. Check the lining, because a fabric lining breathes better than a synthetic one on warm days. Consider the finish honestly: a suede-look surface marks more easily than smooth synthetic and cannot be wiped with a wet cloth. Finally, think about colour upkeep, as white and pale grey show scuffing at the toe within weeks of daily wear.
